How We Approach an Insulation Job

Spray Foam Insulation Overland Park seals and insulates homes in Overland Park, Leawood, Prairie Village, Lenexa, Shawnee and the neighboring cities on both sides of State Line. We spray closed-cell and open-cell foam, blow in cellulose and fiberglass, dense-pack closed walls, and remove old insulation that is soiled, wet or in the way.

Kansas City weather works a house from both directions. Summers are hot and humid, and an attic over a ranch or two-story can bake well past the outdoor temperature, which heats the ductwork running through it. Winters bring cold snaps that find every gap at the rim joist and the attic floor. So our visits look at both: where the house loses heat in January and where it gains it in July.

On a visit we go into the attic, check the existing depth and condition, and look at the leaks: top plates, plumbing and flue chases, recessed lights, bath fans, the attic hatch or pull-down stairs, and the kneewalls around bonus rooms. Downstairs we check the basement rim joist and walls. We also note anything that should be fixed first, like disconnected ducts, roof leaks, damp spots, or old wiring.

How we work

  • Look first, then price. No phone quotes for spaces we have not seen.
  • Written by area. Each part of the house gets its own line: material, depth or thickness, target R-value, price.
  • Seal, then insulate. Air leaks get closed before new insulation covers them.
  • Foam where it pays. Blown-in often does an open attic floor for less; we say so.
  • Protect the home. We cover floors and belongings and clean up.
  • No surprises. Work starts when you approve the quote, and changes are agreed in writing.
